Wendy Doucette is a tenured associate professor and the Graduate Research and Instruction Librarian at East Tennessee State University.  She is the lead instructor and developer of the Sherrod Library Graduate-Level Academic Workshop series and an embedded librarian for the Graduate School’s Thesis and Dissertation Boot Camp. Since 2018, she has been the organizer and program chair for the TLGS (Transforming Libraries for Graduate Students) national conference and web series.  She holds an MS in Library and Information Science from Florida State University and a PhD from Stanford University.  Among varied research interests, she has written about personal storytelling in academic libraries, burnout, civility, motivation, and empathy. She has been a practitioner and teacher of applied Japanese philosophy for three decades.    

Personal note: Although I'm fluent in academese, I choose not to speak it because I find it tiring and unproductive. If you want to talk about practical, real-life methods for improving the work we do, so do I!
